Your listings

Drafts, animals under review, and live auctions, all in one place.

How selling works

Four steps, from setting up your farm to handing the animal over. Listing is free, and HoofnHorn is paid out of the sale price when an animal sells.

  1. Step 1

    Set up your farm

Create an account, then give your farm name and the state you sell from. That is everything you need to list. Getting verified is optional, and you can do it right after setup or any time later.

  2. Step 2

    List the animal

The form asks for the breed, classification, sex, date of birth and where the animal is kept, and for at least three photos. Registration papers, health records and test results are optional and can be added after you publish. Drafts save as you go, so you can start on your phone and finish anywhere.

  3. Step 3

    Set the auction and publish

Choose how long bidding runs, from 3 days to 30, or list at a fixed price until the animal sells. Set your starting bid, and a reserve if you want a floor: buyers see whether it has been met, never the amount. You can name any states you will not sell into. Your first listings get a quick read-through before they go live, and verified breeders publish right away.

  4. Step 4

Close the sale with the buyer

Bids are binding, and a bid in the last two minutes extends the auction by two minutes, so an auction cannot be won by bidding at the last second. When it closes you can message the buyer to arrange payment and pickup. You settle the sale price between you: HoofnHorn never holds the money for an animal, and transport is arranged and paid for by the buyer. If the animal is registered, you file the transfer with the registry and mark it done on the sale.

What it costs

Listing is free. When an animal sells, the buyer pays HoofnHorn a closing fee that comes out of the sale price rather than on top of it, so the winning bid is the full price the buyer pays for the animal. It is capped at $2,500 however high the bidding goes. The rate is 5% of the winning bid, and verified breeders pay 4%. The minimum closing fee is $5.

Our launch rate is 4% of the winning bid for verified sellers who joined in 2026, locked for the first year.

There is one seller fee: a flat $25 if you set a reserve, the auction takes bids, and the animal still does not sell. Setting a reserve needs a card on file, and an auction with no bids is never charged.
